Giuseppe was drowning in security complexity. Despite being a self-professed security enthusiast, he spent nights and weekends trying to secure his growing team at the New Jersey Digital Service. Even after scaling to 30 people and raising $50M+ in funding, he faced constant IT bottlenecks and security nightmares.

He tried everything – new tools, consultations with other teams, extensive research. Surely with so many organizations using the same platforms (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom), there had to be a standardized way to manage security, right?

The more Giuseppe investigated, the clearer two things became: there really aren't good security solutions built for small teams, and he wasn't alone. Most cybersecurity tools are designed for large enterprises with dedicated security teams to manage every alert. Smaller organizations handling security part-time were left struggling.

The Spark That Changed Everything

When Giuseppe was invited to security conferences in San Francisco, he called his friend Jonathan for a place to crash – a decision that would transform both their lives.

That week, as they spent hours discussing Giuseppe's security frustrations, Jonathan began seeing parallels to consumer problems he'd solved before. When he joined Giuseppe at RSA Conference, he immediately understood why cybersecurity felt so overwhelming – it was like visiting a foreign country without knowing the language, drowning in complex terminology and endless acronyms designed to intimidate non-security practitioners.

Those late-night conversations sparked our mission. Giuseppe and Jonathan realized that while cyberattacks were growing rapidly and companies were ill-prepared, simple, proven security concepts could prevent the majority of attacks. Teams just needed an intuitive way to implement these baseline measures.
